Middle to High School Transitions Task Force
Purpose
The purpose of the Task Force is to provide middle schools and high schools with a user-friendly, comprehensive resource for beginning or expanding the crucial strands of academic, social, and organizational transitions of students leaving middle school for high school. The goal is to develop a "one-stop” resource for middle and high school principals and staff.

History
During June and July of 2009, administrators, teachers, and education specialists from every region in the state participated in laying the groundwork for the Transitions Toolkit. Task Force members met in Baton Rouge for an Orientation meeting in which they defined the purpose and scope of the Toolkit. At the Orientation, Task Force members divided into focus teams, participated in leadership training and planned to attend the annual Schools to Watch conference in Washington, DC.
Since July of 2009, Task Force members have continued to share ideas, conference notes, and research materials for the Toolkit through online collaboration.
