Business Unit

The goal of the business unit is to develop and cultivate a proactive, responsive and effective relationship within the business and industry community. Based on a statewide vision, the business unit focuses on strategically building regional partnerships to align Career and Technical Education with Post-Secondary Institutions and to address current and future workforce needs.

Recognizing high demand and the industries needs for a skilled workforce, the business unit strives to bridge the gap
between the instruction in classroom and the workplace. The unit staff recruits business partners for a myriad of services including serving on local curriculum teams, advisory boards, and sponsorship of internship opportunities for students. The unit serves as the division’s link to other state agencies, such as Louisiana Economic Development, Louisiana Workforce Commission, and post-secondary education to coordinate workforce development activities.

Additionally, the business unit responds to critical and special needs projects by providing real time solutions.
