Family and Consumer Sciences (FCS) Education in Louisiana is a broad, comprehensive curriculum with the unique focus of preparing students for multiple adult roles in the family, career, and community. It empowers individuals and families across the life span to manage the challenges of living and working in a diverse, global society. Th e unique focus is on families, work, and their interrelationships. FCS coursework develops knowledge, skills, and attitudes necessary to succeed in the workplace and provides the basis for students to successfully complete postsecondary programs in various content areas.
