Robert C. Byrd Honors Scholarship
The Board of Elementary and Secondary Education has recently been notified by the USDOE that the Robert C. Byrd Honors Scholarship program has not been funded in the federal 2011 budget and is slated to be eliminated in 2012. This means that Louisiana will not receive this federal grant as it has for the past several years, and will not grant any new scholarship awards for the Robert C. Byrd Honors Scholarship. The USDOE is still awaiting notification regarding funding for current scholarship recipients. Further information will be provided as soon as it is available.
