LA GATOR SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM STUDENT APPLICATIONS NOW OPEN

(BATON ROUGE, LA) - The Louisiana Department of Education (LDOE) is now accepting applications until April 7 for its 2025 High School Summer Internship Program, a hands-on learning opportunity that reflects the state’s commitment to redesigning the high school experience and expanding real-world opportunities for students.
Five students will be selected to work as paid interns in one of several key LDOE offices this summer. From policy research and communications to curriculum review and data analysis, interns will contribute to meaningful projects that directly support the Department’s work and help shape the future of education in Louisiana.
Internship Opportunities
Interns will be assigned to one of the following LDOE offices:
- Career and College Readiness – Share student success stories and develop communication toolkits around work-based learning.
- Teaching and Learning – Support curriculum reviews, contribute to post-legislative session materials, and provide input on state-level initiatives such as artificial intelligence in education.
- Governmental Affairs – Analyze legislation and educational data impacting Career and Technical Education (CTE).
- Public Affairs – Design media materials and communications campaigns to inspire future educators, especially in CTE fields.

Applications are open until April 7.

- Application for Student Employment
- LDOE Summer Internship Supplemental Application
- High school transcript
- Resume (highlighting coursework, clubs, volunteer work, or past experience)
- Parental Permission Release Form (required for students under 18)
