Minimum Foundation Program (MFP)
The Minimum Foundation Program (MFP) is the formula Louisiana uses each year to provide state funding to school systems. Louisiana annually adopts a formula to allocate education funding to school systems. Funding through this program is provided to school systems as a block grant. After satisfying all mandated requirements, systems have the flexibility to spend the funding to meet the needs of their schools and students.
