What is a Registered Apprenticeship?
Registered Apprenticeship is a unique, federally regulated, workforce development strategy that has proven a strong return on investment for employers. It is an earn and learn strategy and a career pathway that provides apprentices with both hands-on experiences, as well as classroom training to ensure they are proficient at their occupation. The apprentice acquires competencies and knowledge in their field, and by the end of their apprenticeship, they will receive a portable, nationally recognized credential to showcase their skills in their industry. The employer gains a fully trained, certified, and knowledgeable employee added to their workforce.
Apprenticeship Funding
There is funding available in the fall and spring for students enrolled in approved Registered Apprenticeships (vetted as enrolled with a training provider) at the rate of $2500 per non-rural and $3500 for rural enrollment, as defined by the U.S. Census Bureau. This funding may be used to support all costs associated with the delivery of apprenticeship programming to students.
The enrollments must be reported in the Course Choice Portal using the spreadsheet provided in the Documents tab.
Reporting Deadlines:
· Fall: October 23, system closes to manual school/system uploads September 18
· Spring: March 5, system closes to manual school/system uploads January 29
Enrollments needing to be added after the system closes, up until the fall or spring deadline, must be sent to [email protected]

Due to increased funding requests this school year, eligible enrollments will be funded in the order in which they are successfully uploaded.
