Collaboration + Teacher Leadership

Teacher Leader Advisors (TLAs) are a group of exceptional educators from across Louisiana who play an influential role in raising expectations for students and supporting the success of teachers. The TLAs will use their robust knowledge of teaching and learning to review and create the next wave of high-quality instructional materials and training tools that will be used by thousands of teachers across the state. Current projects include:
  • Evaluating the quality of publisher-submitted curricular materials

  • Creating instructional tools and resources for math, science, social studies, literacy, EdTech, computer science, and STEM

  • Creating and reviewing instructional tasks and formative assessment items

  • Updating instructional resources and analyzing texts

  • Developing and facilitating professional learning sessions

  • Participating in focus groups related to the LDOE’s academic strategy

Who Should Apply?

Any current Louisiana educator is eligible; school-site Teacher Leader designation is not required. Educators are needed who are passionate about ensuring that high-quality materials are available to Louisiana students and have:

  • Desire for growth opportunities

  • Deep understanding of content standards

  • Capacity to devote time to projects outside the normal workday
