Special Education Ombudsman
The Louisiana Department of Education’s Special Education Ombudsman is here to help parents, guardians, educators, and students with disabilities. The Ombudsman is a neutral person who listens to concerns, supports a fair process, and provides confidential assistance in non-legal special education matters. Duplicate High School Transcripts
Need a copy of your high school transcript? You can order a duplicate through the Louisiana Department of Education.
- The LDOE cannot issue replacement high school diplomas. For diploma requests, contact your local school district.
Student Records Requests
To request a student record, you must submit a completed personal consent form along with a copy of the consenting person's driver’s license for identity verification. Please email all documents to ldedata@la.gov.
- The LDOE does not have GED records. For GED verification, please contact Louisiana’s Community and Technical Colleges.
- The LDOE does not have college transcripts. Please contact the college or university directly for those records.
TOPS and Financial Aid Requests
For questions about TOPS or financial aid for higher education, please visit the Louisiana Office of Student Financial Aid.
Teacher Retirement
If you are an educator and have questions about your retirement, please visit the Teachers Retirement System of Louisiana.
Public Records Requests
To submit a public records request, please complete our public records request form and submit it via email to ldepublicrecords@la.gov. After submitting your request, you should receive an acknowledgment within three business days. If you don’t receive a response, please call (225) 342-3572 for assistance. Dr. Cade Brumley is the Custodian of Public Records.
Research Requests
The Louisiana Department of Education regularly conducts research on education topics in the state and partners with universities and organizations for additional studies. If you’re a researcher looking to access data from the LDOE, the Division of Research and Data Privacy has a process for submitting data requests.
Accessibility Requests
If you use assistive technology (screen reader, eye tracking device, voice recognition software, etc.) and experience difficulty accessing information on the Louisiana Department of Education website, we will be glad to send you the information in an alternative format. Please complete the LDOE accessibility request form to report the problem and request the information you need.
