Families and Students LA GATOR Scholarship Program

Returning families must confirm intent to return by March 16

The Louisiana Department of Education (LDOE) announced that the LA GATOR Scholarship Program application window for the 2026–2027 school year will open Sunday, March 1 at 9 a.m. and remain open through March 16 at 11:59 p.m. Families may apply online at lagator.la.gov.

Returning Students

Families of students currently participating in the LA GATOR Scholarship Program must renew their application for the 2026–2027 school year through the Odyssey parent portal during the application window.

Returning families are required to log in to their Odyssey account to review and resubmit their information to maintain eligibility. Failure to renew during the application window will result in loss of eligibility for the 2026–2027 school year.

New Students

Families of Louisiana students not currently participating in the program may submit a new application during the March 1–16 window. This includes families applying for the first time and families of students who applied last year and were placed on the waitlist.

These families will be applying for open scholarships that may become available due to current participants choosing not to return and funding levels approved by the Louisiana Legislature during the upcoming session.
