Registration is now open for the 2026 Louisiana K-12 School Safety Summit, which takes place July 7-8 at the Lake Charles Event Center. The statewide event is being hosted by the Louisiana Center for Safe Schools, in partnership with the Louisiana Department of Education and Louisiana State Police.
This free professional learning event will bring together school leaders, school emergency response coordinators, school resource officers, security personnel, mental health professionals, and community partners. Participants will learn practical strategies to strengthen emergency preparedness, improve school safety, and build effective partnerships.
Sessions will address behavioral threat assessment, emergency operations, and other school safety priorities. Public and nonpublic schools are encouraged to attend with members of their safety teams and community partners.
