Teacher Leader Summit takes place June 10-12 in New Orleans

The school year may have just ended, but over 7,000 Louisiana educators will gather in New Orleans to sharpen their skills and plan for the year ahead. The Louisiana Department of Education’s (LDOE) Teacher Leader Summit is June 10-12 at the New Orleans Ernest N. Morial Convention Center.

A New Story for Louisiana Education

The theme of Teacher Leader Summit 2025 is A New Story for Louisiana Education. Educators are writing a new story for Louisiana education. Louisiana has made historic education progress, and our state is poised to accelerate. Teacher Leader Summit 2025 celebrates our success and prepares educators to drive academic achievement in the upcoming school year.

Louisiana’s Premier Professional Learning Event

Teacher Leader Summit is Louisiana’s premier professional learning event. Thousands of Louisiana educators dedicate part of their summer break to improving their craft and preparing for the school year ahead. Attendees gain new skills, share their expertise, and collaborate with peers from across the state to make a greater impact on student achievement.

Sessions

Choose from 500+ expert-led sessions spanning every content area, grade band, and educational priority. Sessions are facilitated by LDOE staff, Louisiana Teacher Leaders, and trusted partners.

Check-In Hours

Avoid the rush and take advantage of early check-in:

  • June 9: 4–6 p.m.

Regular check-in and the help desk are open:

  • June 10: 7 a.m.
  • June 11: 7 a.m.
  • June 12: 7:30 a.m.

Parking and Transportation

Parking is available near the Convention Center for a daily fee. Some lots are cash only and overnight parking is prohibited. Attendees are encouraged to:

Health and Safety

The safety and well-being of attendees remains a top priority. The LDOE is working with New Orleans & Company and the New Orleans Police Department to support a safe and welcoming experienceVisitor tips include:

  • Travel in groups after dark
  • Stay alert while using phones in public
  • Keep belongings secured and valuables out of sight
  • Remove your badge when leaving the venue

What to Bring

Pack with comfort, convenience, and preparedness in mind:

  • Water bottle (refill stations available)
  • Sweater or light jacket (meeting rooms can be cool)
  • Device chargers and power bank
  • Notebook and pens
  • Umbrella (just in case)
  • Comfortable shoes
  • A backpack or tote for materials
