The Louisiana Department of Education (LDOE) has launched The Power of Presence, a bold new strategy to help schools and systems address chronic absenteeism and improve student outcomes across the state.
The Power of Presence provides a comprehensive framework grounded in prevention, intervention, and community partnership. It offers clear definitions, actionable steps, and a tiered system of support designed to help schools remove barriers to attendance and connect every student with the resources they need to succeed.
In tandem with the release of the strategy, LDOE has also unveiled a new student attendance landing page housed under School System Resources. This online hub gives school and system leaders fast access to guidance documents, data tools, customizable templates, and legal references—all in one place.
