Participants will develop AI solutions to local community challenges in celebration of America’s 250th anniversary
The Presidential AI Challenge invites students and educators across the country to explore how artificial intelligence (AI) can be used to solve local, state, and regional problems. Launched in celebration of America’s 250th anniversary, the challenge encourages innovation and future-ready thinking in classrooms and communities.
This national initiative aims to build interest and confidence in the use of AI tools—especially among young people—while supporting early training in the responsible use of technology.
The challenge is open to:
- Students: K–12 students are encouraged to design projects that study, develop, or apply AI methods to address real community needs.
- Educators: Teachers and school staff can share creative approaches to teaching AI or using AI tools in K–12 learning environments.
Participants will help shape the future by proposing innovative, ethical, and practical applications of AI that reflect local priorities and possibilities.
