Widely regarded as the gold standard of assessments, these latest results measure math and reading proficiency among 4th and 8th grade students in the U.S. Louisiana’s students earned the state’s highest national rankings across both grade levels and subjects. -

LOUISIANA K-3 READING SCORES IMPROVE
December 22, 2024Louisiana K-3 students improved their reading proficiency by 2.3 percentage points on a literacy screener given at the beginning of this school year. Student cohort data also showed a 9.3 percentage point increase, with 2023’s kindergarten class growing by 20.4 points in 2024 as first graders.
